Name and Occupation?
I'm a professional dad now-a-days. LOL! That sounds funny. OK. I'm a professional skateboarder and everyone calls me Cairo.

And your sponsors are?
RVCA clothing, LAKAI Limited Footwear, ENJOI skateboards, KRUX trucks, RICTA wheels, MOB grip, SWISS bearings and CCS.

Let's go back here. Was Supernaut Skateboards your first sponsor?
WOW! Now that's way back, but to be honest, no, Supernaut was not my first sponsor. This guy Jeff Davis hooked me up back in the day when I lived in Jacksonville. He had a board company named Wrecked. But I wasn't running that when I moved out to California. It kind of fizzled out, partly because Jeff moved onto bigger things and I moved away from Florida. Then my next sponsor was probably Venture and then Supernaut.

That company was dope. I liked everything about it. What went wrong and why did they have to close shop?
Well, I don't know why they closed shop in the end, but I had to leave because I felt like I needed more room to grow. I loved Supernaut, but once Mike Ballard slowed down his involvement with the brand, I think the growth of the company wasn't there. So I needed to move on.

Shortly after Supernaut went down you landed on Real. What was it like going from an underground company to a major player in the skateboard world?
I actually got on Mad Circle after Supernaut, but that folded shortly after I made that move. The reasons for the ending of Mad Circle are unclear, though I believe there were issues between Giant Dist. and Justin Girard that never got sorted out. End result was another good company was laid to rest. It really was a shame. After that is when I got on REAL, and I have to say that I was pretty psyched to be on REAL. I lived in San Francisco, so that made things easier since Deluxe was located in SF too. They had a lot more resources than either Supernaut or Mad Circle, which made traveling easier, as well as many other things. Jim and Gabe helped me out a great deal while I was over there at REAL.

Your video part in 'Real To Reel' is one of my favorites. What was it like filming for that compared to filming for the upcoming 'Fully Flared'?
Uhmm, I don't think I could compare the two. I don't really have a certain way of going about filming for any particular video part. I try to do my best getting footage, and that's key I believe. Fortunately, both projects had great minds behind them. Wolfe and Morf for 'Real to Reel' and Ty Evans for 'Fully Flared'. All I know is that I'm happy to be working on another project with Ty. He's the guy who sorted out my part for TWS' 'The Reason'.

When you started Popwar did you really care if people got the concept of it? And now that you recently left do you think it will survive?
Concepts are great but I never wanted to fully rely on it being the engine behind the brand. If you're concept heavy without any other substance, such as a good team, or good art direction, then you're going to be lost in the long run. We knew that everyone wasn't going to get the concept behind Popwar, and that was fine. But that's why the team was sick, and the art amazing. So you didn't have to dig and dig for a meaning. Now that I've left, I don't know what's going to happen to the brand. It's definitely not the same company I left REAL to start. I just wish them the best of luck.

How did the whole Enjoi thing come about? Did you talk with any other companies prior to making the decision to join the team?
I lost a bet. Plain and simple. You saw the ad, right?

What's the hardest thing about leaving home these days? I bet I could answer this but I will let you tell the CCS kids?
Now-a-days when travel plans come up, I got to think about how many days I'm going to miss my little kid. That's always a bummer. Kids learn a lot every single day, so when I'm away for a few weeks, it's like I don't even know my kid anymore. (But not really)

What are some of your favorite places you have traveled to from skateboarding?
Shanghai was a good time, as was Vietnam and Thailand. But I got to say, who you travel with makes a big impact on whether or not a place you travel to will be memorable. Russia's always been a good time too.

What type of music are you listening to right now? And are you afraid Ty might use some crazy song for your Lakai part?
I'm confident that Ty will pick a good song. As for right now, I'm listening to the rain falling outside my window. Winter in the Bay Area sucks!

Name your top three videos parts of all time?
Rick Howard/Splendid Eye Torture by Blockhead, Winona Ryders by G&S, and Birdhouse's Feasters.

What AM's do you like out there right now?
Nick Trapasso.

I thought about something that's kind of a strange fact. Since you skate so fast, did you know it takes you a longer amount of time to get a video part done? What do you think about that?
Bummer. I better slow it down...J/K

So what can the kids out there expect from Cairo in 2007?
Fully Flared and then some.

Any last thoughts?
I wish it were sunny.
