Triumph not. Flip Skateboards, Quiksilver, Etnies Shoes, CCS, Fury, Ricta Wheels and POP 26.

When you first came to the United States, did you have sponsors back in Finland or was Platinum your first sponsor?
Nah, I had sponsors in Finland. My first ever sponsor was Duke, the postal man. He got me hooked up with this shop called Phoenix. There was this guy named Mark Finland that ran the shop. He was a pretty epic dude. I then went and rode for Control skateboards for about 6 months. After my trip through Europe is when everything with American companies came together. I also rode for the Sole Tech distributor during that time rocking Tempsters and Kostons.

I remember Neal Mims talking about you one day then a few weeks later, you slammed super hard at San Diegito. Was the cartoon in the Flip video pretty on point with what happened that day?
Yeah. Yeah. I don't really remember what happened. And no one really saw it either. This is what happens when you get angry and focus a board. It gets right back at you. Straight away you go set up a new board and walk back to the rail. At this time everyone had packed up their camera gear and were like,"what's he doing going back to the rail". I go for a feeble, a warm up trick that just went wrong. I hung up straight to face smash. Once I saw the footage it started to comeback to me and yes I did throw up. I could only hear people but could not see anything.

Besides Barcelona, what's some of your favorite travel destinations to skate?
Basque Country, South Spain. I really want to go to Italy and Perth.

Have you ever been up to the skate parks in Oregon? What do you think of the idea of taking a trip up there with David Gonzalez?
It would definitely be a mind-blowing experience for sure. I was up there recently but didn't hit any of the parks, but I would love to do it.

You won SOTY in 2001 when do you think David Gonzalez is going to win it?
He should win it every year. The only one that really counts is Thrasher. Let's say 2009!

If you could make a line up for a video, who would it be and it can't be anybody on the Flip team?
Jesus??? Gonz for sure, Vortex, Harry Galgary, Flight Man.

You're a huge David Bowie fan. Have you ever seen him play live? What are some other bands that you're into now days?
I have seen Bowie play live once at the Wiltern in Hollywood. It's a small place and it was packed but I got up pretty close to the stage. It was the reality tour. The most epic Finnish rock and roll band "Hanoi Rocks". The Rolling Stones definitely as well.

What are your plans for the 2007?
Ride as many bikes as possible and skate. A bike and a board is all I need.

If there was one motorcycle in the world that you could have, what would it be?
At the moment it would definitely be an older Indian. I am not sure which one but something like Mad Max would ride.

Any advice to kids out there who are looking to come up?
Motorcycles�. As Cardiel said it, "You've got to want it." Nothing else matters.
